The saying goes that certain broadcasters have a “face for radio” – but Brian Kelly’s new mega-watt smile is fit for the silver screen.
The Classic Hits radio host has undergone a “smile makeover”, which has transformed his teeth from a crooked mouthful of amalgam fillings and gold to a mouth he can be proud of.
Mr Kelly had never been self-conscious about his teeth, but when he was approached by dentist Chris Anderson about a makeover, he decided to give it a go.
It was a photograph of Mr Kelly in the Bay of Plenty Times Weekend that prompted the dentist to get in touch.
The half-page image showed Mr Kelly’s teeth in what the radio DJ describes as an “in your face photo”.
“I got this long email from Chris who said he’d like work on my teeth. I was curious more than anything, I wasn’t offended,” Mr Kelly said.
The three-and-a-half-hour makeover has meant saying goodbye to the gold crown on his front tooth, which he’s had since a cricket ball knocked it out when he was 12….read more
