A Denver-area embalmer has been indicted on fraud charges for allegedly stealing gold teeth from bodies and crematory remains and selling them at pawnshops, the Longmont Times-Call reports, citing police documents.
Adrian Kline, 43, was indicted in Boulder on suspicion of providing false information to a pawnbroker and secondhand dealer in the sale of the items.
According to police reports, Kline is suspected of removing gold cosmetic crowns from bodies prior to embalming and removing dental gold from cremated remains, the newspaper says.
Rod Brandenburg, owner of Grandpa’s Pawn shop in Longmont, Colo., tells the Associated Press that a single crown can be worth up to $700, depending on the size of the tooth and the quality of the gold dental implants london.

Police found a copy of Kline’s driver’s license with a bag holding about 20 gold teeth at one pawnshop, the newspaper said. Kline visited pawnshops dozens of times over three years, the paper says…Kline, father of eight, told investigators he would only take home items he found in the trash and “sift through the remains, which consisted of screws, bone anchors, and other miscellaneous metal,” the Times-Call reports
But funeral home owners who examined photos of the recycled gold told police there was no way that all of it had gone through the cremating process.
A forensic dentist told authorities most of the gold recovered from pawnshops came from cadavers and some of the gold teeth had tool marks that appeared to have been made by a pair of pliers, the AP reports…read more
