DENTAL staff were left speechless after receiving a phone call asking if they would make some false teeth for a world-famous ventriloquist dummy.
The patient was none other than Archie Andrews, now owned by Colin Burnett-Dick … Appear Archie was born in 1942 and appeared on the stage, TV and radio in the 50s and 60s with his then owner Peter Brough.
Millions listened to and watched their Educating Archie show and at one point their fan club had a membership of 250,000.
He appeared with, and launched stars such as, Harry Secombe, Tony Hancock, Alfred Marks, Bernard Miles, Julie Andrews and Max Bygraves as well as performing privately for the Royal Family at Windsor Castle.
The show featuring Archie and + Brough came to an end in 1958.

But now he is back in demand. Mr Burnett-Dick, who lives in Hartfield, bought Archie in 2005 for £34,000 and is poised to put the famous dummy back on the stage. He has written a play with ventriloquist Steve Hewlett about Archie’s life and intends to go on tour next year.
However, as the dummy enters his autumn years, Mr Burnett-Dick felt he needed some improvements, courtesy of the dentist. “He is almost 70 years old now and we are worried he might fall to bits if he goes on tour,” he said.
“He is getting busier all the time so we are having an exact replica made and the replica will have the new teeth – the shade, shape and fitting of the teeth need to be exactly the same.”..dental implant london.Technician Rupert King was tasked with making Archie a new set of teeth.
“I was quite surprised. I have never done anything quite like this before,” he said.
“I made some teeth for a racing greyhound around 20 years ago – but never for a star.”
Last week Archie attended the practice for impressions to be taken of his teeth. He has his own dental record card and medical history form.
