An area doctoral student is studying whether dentists may be hurting their hearing when they break out the drill..
“Patients despise the sound,” said dentist Dr. Bo Westmoreland. “A lot of people will bring an iPod, put their headphones in, some people will bring ear plugs, most people just do the two hand method and just hold onto the dental chair and just get through it.”
