MORE money is to be spent on increasing NHS dental places in North Cornwall before the end of this month to ensure waiting patients can be seen quickly.
NHS Cornwall and Isles of Scilly successfully bid for a share of £3.5 million of temporary funding to improve dental provision over the next two months. The Primary Care Trust is also adding money to the pot, improving access for 1,300 patients in total.
The money will be spent in the parts of Cornwall, such as Caradon, Restormel and North Cornwall, where existing NHS providers have capacity to provide more appointments.cosmetic dentist london
Saltash and Penzance, which already have funding allocated for waiting patients, continue to work to reduce waiting lists that built up after the loss of previous providers.
The investment comes as the latest GP patient survey shows Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly having good rates of access to dentistry. Some 91 per cent of respondents were successful in getting an NHS dental appointment last time they tried. Some 81 per cent ranked their overall dental implants london experience of NHS dentistry as being “very good” or “fairly good.”
