It is extremely strange for the issue of teeth whitening to go on that long without any clear clarification about the legality of its use either from the governing body, GDC, or the government.
One can draw a parallel to what’s been going on with the super injunction issue as everybody has been talking about Ryan Gigs alleged affair with Imogen Thomas yet it is not permitted, so far, to print it.
Well we know that almost all dental clinics offer some form of teeth whitening in safe controlled environment … there is a public demand for it … teeth whitening products can easily be purchased from pharmacies and online. So what’s the point of making it illegal?
To be honest teeth whitening can be a conservative and cost effective way to improve one smile.
So what does it take to get this issue sorted … some big law case that would cost millions to tax payers?
The profession is strongly in favour of teeth whitening and never stopped offering this service but clarification is needed to put this issue to rest once for all.
Is there a brave politician to take this issue on? Or do we need the same old parliamentary privilege as the one used to expose the super injunction issue to end this saga!
