The dental world moans the father of dental implants Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark who passed away after a period of extended illness in his hometown of Gothenburg, Sweden.
Professor Brånemark is the one who changed the direction of dentistry by discovering the concept of osseointegration where titanium dental implants integrate with living bone.
This discovery started all new branch of dentistry allowing patients to replace missing teeth using firm dental implants and allowed for the teaching of new specialty of dental implants.
Such implants now used to support cosmetic removable partial dentures, cosmetic fixed bridges and cosmetic crowns.

The development of dental implants were remarkable from the early dental implants even allowing these days for immediate replacement of broken or damaged teeth providing same day teeth or all on four teeth using instant dental implants london.

Professor Per-Ingvar Brånemark was an inspiration to many dental implants specialist dentist. I was lucky to meet him in person in mid 1990 while doing my research on dental implants.
His contribution will never be forgotten.
