Many people dislike their partial or complete removable dentures. Many had enough with the use of denture glue to stop it from shifting and falling at the wrong place and the wrong time.
theses days with the introduction of dental implants in the 60’s of last century by professor PI Branemark, you have the great solution for your concerns.
Dental implant or tooth implant is a special screw shaped insert made of titanium. They are inserted in the jawbone following a surgical procedure. Once healed, they can provide an anchor for a crown tooth, dental bridge or cosmetic denture.
Dental implants are a great solution to replace removable dentures. Typically 8 implants are needed to replace all missing teeth in one arch. this procedure can be expensive and extensive requiring bone graft and in some occasions sinus lift procedure.
The All-on-4 dental implant technique offers patients a more affordable solution to this problem. The principal of the procedure is using 4 dental implants in the lower jaw placed in strategic locations to support a fixed cosmetic dental bridge.
In the upper jaw we usually recommend using 6 implants.
The technique has been in use for over than 20 years with excellent success rate.
The way the tooth implant placed is to avoid local anatomical areas to avoid complex bone graft procedures and allowing supporting the bridge.
So two dental implants will be fitted in the front of the jaw and two in the back with special angulation. The angle helps to maximise the use of bone in this area. This will allow the use of longer dental implants, providing greater support for the replacement teeth.
AND This entire process can be complied in ONE DAY replacing all missing teeth.
This procedure is not suitable for everyone, but is worthy of consideration by anyone who is missing a complete arch of teeth.
