What Is An Immediate Dental Implant?

Dental Implants London are the best available option to replace missing and fractured teeth.

The idea of using tooth implant is not new. Indeed, there are some reports taking as far as ancient Egypt.

However, modern dental implants gained its popularity in the 1980s after years of research by Professor Branemark.

The original Branemark protocol was based on replacing missing teeth after months of healing. This means the patient who lost teeth has to endure months with no teeth.

Modern dental implants have more advanced techniques and materials. This allowed the introduction of Immediate dental implants or fast dental implants.

As a result, when a tooth is extracted, a dental implant can be placed immediately to replace that tooth…to be more precise the implant will replace the root of the tooth.

In selective case, a provisional tooth can also be placed to replace the tooth crown all together.

This modern approach allowed the provision of same day teeth.

This is where all missing and badly broken teeth are extracted, and dental implants are placed using all on four dental implants or all on six dental implants.

The future of dental implants is exciting. Now, we can apply more advanced surgical procedure to facilitate dental implants placement like bone graft procedure, sinus lift surgery including using keyhole surgery with sinus lift and gum grafts.

We can now provide predictable teeth replacement to restore function and smile and indeed rebuild confidence.
